Our Last Month

I know that it's been a while since I've posted...sooo much has gone on!! We had such a WONDERFUL Christmas. Getting to rest for two weeks was GREAT! We didn't think that we would ever stop opening gifts! Here are a list of our TOP picks (in no particular order): 1) Breville indoor grill, 2) All weather radio, 3) Paper shredder (in blue), 4) A trip to the Chick-fil-a bowl game!! I know Matthew's favorites were his cool flashlight that shines many different colors and his video game (he has almost beat his game)!! On of my favorite gifts came AFTER Christmas...about 2 weeks after, the be exact. Let me explain:

Matthew and I have LOVED being in our own home, but we always felt like we would like to have a little one running around (a dog that is). We looked for several months, but really couldn't decide if we were up for the job of being "parents" yet. The day that Matt and I were leaving Knoxville, we stopped by the Humane Society and fell in love with a 1 year old dog named Abbie. We filled out paper-work to adopt her and were going to pick her up the next day. However, after debating on her and the responsibilities, we just didn't feel right about the decision. We couldn't put our finger on it, but something just didn't "feel right". So, we left her in the hands of a new family and came on back to Birmingham.

The following week was a very restful week before Matt started back to school...although VERY busy! What were we doing?! Searching for a puppy. Matt decided that since he's never been around a puppy 24-7 that he wanted to experience it...me, I wasn't so keen on the idea of a puppy, but I knew that it's what he really wanted! This past Friday night, before I feel asleep I prayed that God would completely shut the door if we weren't meant to have a puppy...and on Saturday, we came home with an amazing puppy!! How crazy!! She is so wonderful, and we love her with all our hearts! She's a little Morkie (half Maltese/half Yorkie). She's a bundle of cuddles and energy. Right now, she's waking us up every two hours on the dot to go "potty" and if we don't lay by her while she's falling asleep, she gets lonely and BARKS...ALOT!!! We have decided to baby her for a little while so that she doesn't wake up the neighbors. Can't wait for you all to see her!!!
